Do I need a Mini Split Air Conditioner?

There is no worse time of year for me than summer. I hate the heat. I'd rather have rain or snow everyday than a hot sun and humid, breezeless days. Sweaty sticky shirts and no relief except for the greatest invention in the history of mankind: air conditioning. Unfortunately, not all houses support air conditioning and it is expensive. Sure, there's window units, but what about rooms without windows? And as a renter, you're completely at the mercy of a landlord for a little cool air. Luckily, I made the best investment I could think of. I got a mini split air conditioner.

What is a mini split air conditioner? A mini split air conditioner is a smaller, thinner room cooler that installs right in the wall of the room you want to control the temperature in. The mini split air conditioner will install at the top of the wall near the ceiling to make itself unobtrusive and cool the room most effectively. It is connected to a briefcase-sized unit and is connected without ducts. For this reason, a mini split air conditioner is sometimes referred to as a ductless air conditioner. The mini split air conditioner is connected to the outdoor unit by two refrigerant tubes. They connect the two units and pass back and forth electricity and coolant.

Why is a mini split air conditioner the right choice? Well, they're much more affordable than installing central air conditioning. And as I mentioned before, some of the older houses aren't able to be installed with central air. In either of these cases, a mini split air conditioner is the right choice.

Many people use window box air conditioning units but are disappointed with the noise, appearance and efficiency of these units. A mini split air conditioner is the right choice again. Installed high up the wall, they're out of the way, and sleek - some might even suggest that they're handsome compared to a window unit. A mini split air conditioner is also much more efficient and whisper quiet when compared to a window unit.

Now I'm not trying to suggest that a mini split air conditioner is perfect. It generally won't cool more than one room, and they are a little pricier than a window unit. But one or two of them placed on each floor in a house can really provide better relief for the summer months than any window unit can. If you're looking for a quiet, efficient and cost-effective way to beat the summer heat, consider buying a mini split air conditioner.
