Politically Incorrect Online Dating Advice

It wasn't very long ago that online dating was kind of exotic something that just the twenty-somethings did because God forbid that they should ever get up from their computers. And signing up for it kind of branded you as desperate. But news of how super-convenient they can be has gone around. Ninety-year-olds routinely (or as far as the word routine can be used for them, at least) get online for some dating action these days. Those who do get online to date though find that it is usually an exercise in curbing your enthusiasm. They need a little online dating advice to help them see how it all works.

Know how you won't even look at profiles that don't have a picture? Well, you might as well exercise the same rule for the profiles that do, for all the insight those pictures allow you. There's something about two-dimensional photos especially those small ones. They just don't help you understand how a person looks.

Just think about it there are all these magazines and other places with online dating advice. There are forums, services that help you put a profile "that's guaranteed to win" together like you are applying for a job and no one tells you that the pictures of women that you see online are no use.

Now you're probably telling yourself that this is really shallow. You're telling yourself that you're not the kind person who judges a romantic match just by how he or she looks. The problem though is that until you actually go and meet someone and spend a couple of hours with them, you practically have nothing to go on. People can just say anything on their profile to make a sale, and they do.

So you are a history buff, you like going to museums. There is this girl online who seems nice who says she lives for the museum. How do you know it's true? If she actually had a few pictures on Facebook that showed her standing in front of the museum and if there were posts there about her love of history, you might have something.

Basically, the picture is the only guaranteed piece of truth you get on an online dating profile. And even there, it's just ow quality pictures that gives you a deeply flawed mental image of what he or she really looks like. It works the other way too some people just don't photograph well even if they are stunning in person.

And finally, the online dating advice that you get to read usually tries to stay politically correct. They will tell you what you really need to know. For instance, they'll never tell you that when a girl picks your profile out and e-mails you first, that almost never goes well.

This does sound outrageous dont women have the right to make the first move? They certainly do. But somehow, it isn't often that you find pleasant women doing this. It's just an observation not an opinion.
