You certainly want to announce to the world in style that your baby has arrived. How about starting a blog for your baby, or a website? If you have no end of pictures and minute-by-minute updates to give your family and friends, the answer is to start a free blog on WordPress or something. You just send the link for an RSS feed to everyone, and there you go. You can even put slideshows and videos there. Speaking of videos, who can resist YouTube?

But of course, there still is a lot to be said for those old-fashioned birth announcement ideas sending out nice paper announcements. But these days, some parents like us to do it a little differently. They take an advertisement out in all the papers, and hope that everyone they know who receives a copy of the paper in the morning twill choose to keep the copy as something remember the day by.

If you think about it, this could be a very good idea for the baby, too. How great will it be for the baby to grow up and to look at the paper that announces the day she was born? Shell also look at everything else that happened that day and it'll really put things in perspective.
