My Portable Radio Comes With Me Everywhere

I realized a very long time ago that I have a long-standing love affair with all kinds of music, and pretty much need to be around a radio wherever I go. I bought a portable radio for this purpose, and I have to say, I have taken it to many places, some of which you might not expect.

When I was younger, I wanted to be a boy scout. It was not because I wanted to go camping or fishing or earn merit badges, but simply because I wanted to go birdwatching, which my friend Sean said his troop did once a month. When I was finally able to join, I was really far behind all the other boys because I had not studied the different types of birds, and when the troop leader would ask us which birds were which, I would hear everyone firing out answers before I had a chance to guess until I got a book with pictures of birds.

It was my mother who bought me the book, and I was intrigued by it as soon as I looked inside. It had all kinds of pictures of birds, and before long, I was starting to learn things about these birds that most of my fellow boy scouts did not know. I felt my confidence grow each time we went out birdwatching and pretty soon I was firing out the answers when asked what type of birds we were observing.

I then made my first of three trips in three years to New Orleans. One would imagine that a single journal would be enough when seeing the same city three times in a row, but New Orleans has so much to do it actually took me two photo journals to hold all of the pictures that I took, and I have to say, of all the places I have visited, the photos tell the most complete story from New Orleans.

I have also traveled to Baltimore, Washington D.C., Denver and throughout the Rocky Mountain states, each time with camera and photo journals purchased, ready to hold more photos once I return. It is a very efficient system, and barring my home burning down, it's an almost certain way to guarantee that I will never forget my trips.
